Our Team

Our Team: We are so lucky to have brought together talented women who share a passion for developing positive self-image and who embody the values we hope to instill in young girls - and their moms!

Emilie Schnitman Liebhoff – Founder and Executive Director
Emilie Liebhoff is a 2007 graduate of Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management, a 2002 graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a 1998 graduate of Dartmouth College. At Cornell, she was selected to be a Bristol Myers-Squibb Leadership Fellow and at Dartmouth, she co-captained the 1998 women’s ice hockey team to the Ivy League title.  Since college Emilie has focused her graduate research on the positive impact of sports on self-esteem and on the role of mentoring in girls’ lives.  Having grown up with a learning disability Emilie credits her coaches and her experience participating in sports with teaching her valuable life skills to persevere.  Emilie attributes much of her athletic, academic and professional success to her own parents’ support and to time spent training at sport and enrichment programs. As a result, Emilie truly understands the benefits of hard work and the value of a positive sports experience on leadership, self-esteem, and overall life skills.  Emilie currently works at Belmont Day School and she lives west of Boston with her husband, Adam, and their 11 month old daughter, Lilly.

Jennifer Lane Lockwood – Director of Programs
Jennifer Lockwood is currently working towards her Master's in Elementary Education at Lesley University.  While at Lesley, she has focused her research on boys' and girls' development, with specific interests in bullying and motivation.  She graduated from Dartmouth College in 1998 with a major in History and a minor in Psychology.  While at Dartmouth, Jen played on the women's ice hockey team for four years, earning the Most Improved Player Award during her sophomore year and co-captaining the team during her senior year to the Ivy League Title.  After college, in addition to working as an analyst at a real estate investment company, she spent four years co-coaching adolescent girls through the Charles River girls hockey program, which qualified for the National Tournament twice.  Jen grew up in Natick, MA, where she currently lives with her husband, Keith, and their 8 month old son, Will.

Kristen Alexander Renehan – Director of Alumni Relations
Kristen Renehan received her BA in business from the University of Richmond in 2000.  After college, Kristen worked in promotions while at the same time she directed programs for Envision Leadership, an organization focused on teaching leadership skills to adolescents.  An avid athlete, Kristen played soccer in college and in the past two years, she even tested her skills as ice hockey goalie.  Kristen is also an avid singer and she recently was performing with a band in Ithaca, NY.  Kristen was part of our founding team in Ithaca and we are thrilled that she will be keeping in touch with all of our alumni going forward.

Other Key People:  We are so grateful to all of the other people who helped launch Moms As Mentors.  Our families and many of our classmates from high school, college, and graduate school helped get this business off the ground.  Each contributed in various ways and we are so thankful to all of them for believing in this idea.  We have an incredible pool of talented, engaging, and supportive friends and family and we are grateful for their encouragement along the way.
