Moms As Mentors empowers girls and moms to be self-confident, independent, and influential women by teaching them that their self-worth is linked to far more than their physical beauty.
Through programs that combine team-building and leadership training through the use of sports with a leading-edge mother-daughter curriculum, girls in grades 4-8 can learn invaluable life skills to help them become influential leaders. At the same time, moms will have a chance to explore their own adolescence, build a community of women, and pursue an active, healthy lifestyle with their daughters.
Moms As Mentors’ programs address a major self-esteem issue in American girls in two major ways. First, Moms As Mentors is designed around participation in sports, which teaches sharing, collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, and perseverance. Second, it’s designed specifically with girls and women in mind, indicating the importance of mothers in raising girls' self-esteem. The programs require participation from moms, whom will be given tools for raising confident girls and will gain invaluable bonding time with their daughters.
